Testing the intake manifold absolute pressure sensor usually requires a multimeter or scanning tool. You can use a multimeter to test the intake manifold absolute Pressure Sensor as follows: First, disconnect the vehicle battery. Disconnect the intake manifold absolute pressure sensor from its electrical connector. Now, set up the multimeter so you can measure the voltage in the 5 volt to 12 volt range. A low voltage reading (less than 5 volts) will indicate that your TMAP sensor is broken. Next, measure the resistance between the two terminals on the intake manifold absolute pressure sensor. A high resistance reading (above 1000 ohms) will indicate that your intake manifold absolute pressure sensor is broken. You can also test the TMAP sensor using the scanning tool. The scanning tool will connect to the electrical connector of the sensor and perform a multi-step test. The final result of this test will tell you whether the TMAP sensor is good or bad.
